Day 2

The second lesson is given in the open water from our boats. This teaching method allows the student to practice safely, without obstacles and there is no need to go upwind along the beach.

Water lessons are split up into two parts. First you learn how to body drag. That means putting all the manoeuvres that you were taught day one into practice. You’ll use the kite to go across the water, downwind / upwind and learn how to relaunch the kite from the water after you crash it.

Every exercise will be demonstrated by the instructor first, who will then pass the kite over to you and hold onto you while you practice. Then you’ll get to practice by yourself and get comfortable with being alone with a kite.

Your second session in the water is spent with the board. As before first you will hold onto the instructor while he demonstrates the techniques to you, then he will hold onto you until you are ready to practice and improve by yourself.

Day 3

On the 3rd day of your kite course you will go straight into the water and straight onto the board. We focus on teaching you whatever is needed to get you to an independent level. The day is split into two sessions, both in the water with the board.

To really master kitesurfing it is always best to practice as much as possible. If you are committed to learning this wonderful sport we advise that you go on and take 5 days or more.

Day 4

It’s all about practice on day 4 and getting you completely comfortable on the board. The day is split into two sessions, both in the water with the board. At the end of day 4 we would expect you to be able to ride back and forth downwind in both directions.

Day 5

Day 5 is again split into two sessions, both in the water with the board. We’d expect you to be quite comfortable on the board and with the kite now and it’s all about developing that natural flair and enjoying the ride. At the end of day 5 we would expect you to be able to ride across the wind and maybe starting to look at riding upwind.

Water time is shared with other person.

Day 1

The intermediate kite course starts with an hour recap on the beach. Depending on your level, this could be:

• Flying one of our special training kites on the beach
• Running over body drag technique and body position
• Simulating water starts for the more advanced

Once this has been completed we head off into the water which is split into two parts. This could be body dragging or getting straight onto a board, depending on your experience. Your instructor will first demonstrate the exercises with you holding onto their harness, then you will practice with the instructor holding onto you until you are capable and safe to be left alone to practice and get comfortable with a kite.

Your second time in the water will be straight with the board. If this is your first time trying the board it will work as before, first the instructor and you, then you and the instructor then you alone. It’s quite flexible depending on your skill level and what you feel comfortable with.

Day 2

You’ll get straight into the water on day 2 of your intermediate kitesurfing course. The day will be split into two sessions, both of them in the water with the board. Each day practicing with our instructors will make you more comfortable with the kite and the board. At the end of day 2 we’d expect you to be able to ride back and forth downwind in both directions, but it really depends on you existing skill level, so you might be able to do much more already.

Day 3

Day 3 will be split into two sessions, both of them in the water with the board. Each day practicing with our instructors will make you more comfortable with the kite and the board. At the end of day 3 we’d expect you to be able to ride across the wind and maybe starting to look at riding upwind, again depending on pre existing skill level.

Day 4

Lessons on day 4 are again split into two times in the water with kite and board. At the end of day 4 we’d expect you to be a level 2 on the IKO kitesurf card.

Day 5

Day 5 is again split into two lessons, both in the water with board and kite. At the end of day 5 you are likely to have covered a few parts of level 3 on the IKO kitesurf card.
Water time is always shared with one other person.

Private kitesurfing courses are best suited for the advanced rider wanting to learn turns, jumps, rotations and more. Private courses are not recommended to any kitesurfer who cannot go upwind.

When running a private hour the instructor may either be on a kite himself, doing a ‘follow the leader’ style lesson, or may swim after the student and have them kite away from him and back to him. If the instructor does use a kite, he always kites around the student and keeps at a safe distance so that the student can see and hear the instructor.

Private hours are only given by our most experienced instructors with 5+ years of experience.
